This is shown as a screenshot on my laptop. Below is a pic of the log file you have listed. This failed idetically to Gamestarter… The game addon would trigger the emulator and I’d get the splash screen from the emulator and the screen would take me back into kodi.Īnyhow, any advice is greatly appreciated!! I put a post out to Zach Morris and he had me go through and set the emulator for each specific system within his addon. When it bombs it does not error out, the emulator just quits and sends you right back into Kodi. What seems to happen is when you load a game it bombs whenever it enters the emulator. I have installed two different versions of Gamestarter and neither worked. I have tried running an old version of RetroArch. I’m running LibreElec 7.9x on x86 hardware. The problem with that is that it's going to use the awful desktop encoder and give you terrible performance.Do you have any suggestions for those of us using x86 based systems? I’m struggling here to figure this thing out! I’m looking for the above solution but can’t seem to get one to work. Like I said, I'm almost positive that it's a focus issue that's being caused by the splash screen that pops up before Big Box actually launches.ĮDIT: Another thing that supports that theory is that if you load up something like Notepad for example on the Link so that you can get to your desktop, and then launch Big Box directly from that, the controller inputs actually work in Big Box. I'm pretty sure I already have the Steam overlay disabled, that's why I was surprised. Since my RetroArch setup is configured to display 5x the native resolution to fit the Border Overlays (I have an overlay scale of 1. I've just got it setup as the normal controller, not like keyboard mode or anything. The Big Box UI doesn't respond to it, but it does work with wireless keyboard/mouse and once a game is launched the 360 controller works just fine in the emulator itself. What kind of controller are you using? I'm using a wireless 360 controller + usb dongle. It breaks controller support for the games. I'll definitely check that out when I get home! Thanks for the tip! I spoke too soon. Originally posted by Zombeaver:Seriously? I would swear I had tried that though. Thanks! That worked perfectly! I use retroarch on mobile all the time so i was fine. It has a bit of a learning curve and there are definitely some things about it that I think are a bit on the obtuse side, but once you get beyond the initial hurdle it's fantastic and works great with the Link once you've got everything setup properly. My one major suggestion is to look into Retroarch. Nothing is entered in the Kodi log either. The RetroArch addon (1.16.0.3) was installed successfully but as soon as I start RetroArch there is a black screen and Kodi starts again. I have it setup as a non-steam app on the host and launch it on the Link like any other game. I have everything setup in a front end called Big Box (the premium version of Launch Box [It's basically like XBMC/Kodi but for emulators. I've been working on this stuff for about a month now haha. Things like PCSX2 needs to have the log window disabled so that it doesn't steal the Link's focus and ruin performance. ePSXe needs -nogui and -loadbin as launch commands in order to launch directly into a specific game, for example. There's a lot of tweaking involved for each of these and some involve special launch commands so that they load properly. SSF is the only Saturn emulator worth a crap (Yabause is a joke) and while it works fine on my host PC, it seems to cause issues for the Link which I've yet to resolve. Sega Saturn is about the only thing giving me much trouble. PSP (PPSSPP Retroarch has a PPSSPP core but I've found it's a little buggier and performance isn't quite as good as standalone PPSSPP which works fine over Link anyway) Playstation (Retroarch / Mednafen Core ePSXe works as well) Sega Dreamcast (Demul and nullDC to some extent but Demul is far superior anyway) Sega CD (Retroarch / Genesis Plus GX Core) Genesis (Retroarch / Genesis Plus GX Core) So far I've gotten the following to work over the Link: I've gotten N64 to work via the Retroarch [core.
